Happy New Year to all of you.
Thank you for the beautiful flowers you sent Netty & I.
We really were touched.(No comments thank you)
It was lovely of you to think of us.
We,like yourselves, are counting down the days to this year's pairs, preparing body & mind.
It's very hard work doing all that drinking for 10 days solid. Kathleen

Merry Christmas my fellow Kerry Men - hope Santa brought you just what you wished for (I did - I start a new job January 16th)! There were a few euros left over from Nick and Sue's collection so I sent a lovely "Christmasy" flower arrangement over to Paudie's Bar F.A.O. Kathleen & Netty on behalf of all the fishermen, with our thanks for yet another fantastic "Pairs Week" - we may be out of sight, but not out of mind! Wishing you all well for the New Year and can't wait until we all meet up again to do battle for the 2012 trophy, yo Big Jim!

From: tony royall (Fri 23rd Dec 2011 at 21:01)

yer big thumbs up to all the lads who make the pairs possible, great craic and seeing old friends again, highlight of the week for me was seeing budge and john getting 2 nd place in the pairs,

roll on kerry

From: andy booth (Mon 10th Oct 2011 at 17:29)
Many thanks to the "committee" for the smooth running yet again, you lot work hard, keep it up. Good to see familiar faces again, and a few new ones, the Craic was excellent again.
Sorry I had to shoot home early, bit of bad news meant I was needed home asap, cant be helped. Was looking forward to watching the boys fish Inch on the web cam, shame you had to change venues, but Inch looked like you could hardly stand on it, let alone fish it.
Will be back next year, only 51 weeks to go!!!

From: andy booth (Sat 10th Sep 2011 at 13:34)
Just looked on that web cam on Inch Sat 10/09/11, fantastic storm, the remnants of hurricane Katria, I believe. Hope its a little calmer when we fish it, but at least that storm should push the weed above the HW mark. I hope!!!

From: two rods (Sun 28th Aug 2011 at 12:02)
Think my beloved SWANSEA did much more damage than BRIGHTON did by being the first welsh side in the premiership. Probably the second worst rivalry behind celtic n rangers but still looking forward being your doubles partner UP THE SWANS

From: Sheep Sheep Everywhere (Fri 26th Aug 2011 at 23:28)
After what Brighton did to my beloved Cardiff i am staying out of this one

2 - 2 is afair result for the travelling tangerines. Got to be a suspect defence at Brighton allowing our aging Mr Phillips to score twice, he qualifies for the Old Git prize!! Disappointed, I have had no requests to join Big Jim and I on our specemin hunts in the Marina Inn - obviously real anglers are entering the competition. I shall have to alert my partner that he may need to fish more than 3 times during our 10 days in God's Own County. Good to hear you are all well and ready fo another tour. Remember to re chec the rules about cars on t beaches, both during the competition, and during specimen hunts. Important stuff. Stress, what stress, have another Guinness..

From: Nick H (Sat 20th Aug 2011 at 18:00)
Dear All,

Took a skate thro' the Forum [don't worry, it was unharmed [measured] and released]

Looking like it's shaping up for another great Pairs Event 2011, year 30. 66 Pairs to date.

I took a look at Tony T's Inch link - fab. If you want to get a fix...go there!

Kathleen tells me the beer stocks are on order and all is well.

See you all late Sept for another cracking week.

Kindest regards - Nick H

Well, what do ya know! Been on this website countless times and only just realised there is a forum tab to talk to you lot. Just had a good read and caught up on the last year of messages - dozy twat!!!
Anyway, 41 days to go assuming daz's clock is working correctly now and can't wait. Will definately be holding you to that beer Jimmy and i reckon we can soon train the bar staff to understand a Tom Top to make life less demanding on you old boy.
Moving onto more imminent action - todays big game, the mighty gulls against the once mighty oranges :-). Seriously, i wish you boys all the best and hope you finish in a very respectable runners up position, my cash is on a 2-1 to the gulls, the Southampton to draw and we go top, One can dream!

Forty-three days on my counter - crikey, I wish mine wasn't working I've got stacks to do! Tom Crean Promotion eh Daz - I'll have to make sure I've got my teeth in when I go and buy Shakey a beer - a pint of "tom crean lemonade top", what a mouth full! Unfortunately Gary (Hazelgrove), I don't think Buddy & I will be coming down to watch the "Mighty Pool" at weekend. I had to take what work I could and will just have to sit at home and prey we don't get turned over (it could be a long week)!!!!! If anything changes though - I'll let you know one way or another. See you all soon - can't wait, it's gonna be good!!!

just a heads up for those that intended to travel on the swansea cork sailing on weds 28th sept , this sailing now appears to have been cancelled , and people have been informed by email .

(never checks emails , hence this note )

im not sure how its working eg refunds or re scheduling sailings but hopefully everybody that booked on this sailing can find a alternative booking .

From: andy booth (Tue 16th Aug 2011 at 20:46)
Yes Darren, the clock is back, reminds me I had better get a move on and get some gear together.
Re the new brewery, just what we need in Dingle, more beer.
Just had a call from a very upset Mr Royal, apparently Swansea - Cork ferry cancelled his sailing and the alternative dates they have given means either he has to be very nice to Mrs Royal for a couple of weeks and arrive early, or arrive after the 1st match. Its going to be very quiet without him at Cappa, isn't it

From: Darren Smith (Mon 15th Aug 2011 at 19:07)
Messrs Royall and Booth - countdown clock should have been restored (well I can see it on mine). Let me know if still having problems.

From: Kathleen Sheehy (Mon 15th Aug 2011 at 08:46)
Absolutely Darren. Consider it done. Molly's arriving today for a few days. I'll give him a sample & tell him to post a comment on what he thinks of it.

Sounds good Kathleen. Any chance of a promotion night?

From: Kathleen Sheehy (Fri 12th Aug 2011 at 11:04)
Thought you'd like to know lads a new Dingle lager was launched last month.

It's called Tom Crean's ( after the polar explorer)or Crean's as its being called.

It's brewed in Dingle in a new brewery located on the Spa Road in town, just at the fork in the road where you follow the road round to the left to go up Connor Pass. It's made from local spring water and is selling like hot cakes.

You can go on a tour of the brewery, with of course a sample at the end of the tour.

We had it put in the bar this week and the response to it is very good.

From: andy booth (Mon 8th Aug 2011 at 19:39)
Where has the countdown clock gone? Will have to keep looking at the calender now.

From: andy booth (Sat 6th Aug 2011 at 14:00)
Jim, hope Mr Bassboots got plenty material to make a pair of 13s in size XXXL if you snare the biggest bass. He is prob hoping Snowy wins it, couple of off cuts will fit him.

Hi All, clocks ticking and as ever, I can't wait - it's been a hell of a year. Apologies for not replying to previous comments until now - lost me job and only just online at home! Hope to get to the Brighton game in three weeks, but funds could be a problem as still out of work! Catch up with you all anytime from eight weeks on uesday - not that I'm counting! P.S. Any news on bait bans - only joking Nick!!!!!

From: andy booth (Sat 23rd Jul 2011 at 13:52)
Just watched that great video, happy days, couple of things spring to mind. Nick scrubs up well with a camera pointed at him, posh voice as well, not one swear word. And Mr Fogerty senior, can actually understand what he is saying better in Gealic than English. Your right about Hazel Tony, no wonder he goes through a lot of pens while we are there!

From: tony royall (Sun 10th Jul 2011 at 22:40)
After watching this video it comes to my knowledge what a great fish witness and card signer Gary Hazelgrove is. He looked so profesional signing in Nicks fish, any one would be lucky to have such card signer next to them. Well done Gaz we have finally found something your good for. lol

Well not long to go.
I got a copy of the news item that appeared on the Irish news channel that was filmed at Inch last year of all of you. I have posted it on the hotel facebook page for you to have a look at. From: tony royall (Tue 24th May 2011 at 17:57)
Jim Am very sorry to see you are back in the championship after a super year in the top flight, hope you enjoyed it while it lasted, but hay ho shit happens. worse things could happen, drawing a low peg by the car park at Ventry( that did happen to you one year and you bagged up with bass) or the pairs not being on. That would be a disaster,or Andy Booth winning the pairs how bad would that be? 70 other pairs comitting suicide because life not worth living anymore.
You and Ian are welcome to come down for the week end they play at Brighton, BUT you cant wear those nice little tangerine shirts as faggots down here would love them in the blue oyster bar. looking forward to see you all in kerry.

From: andy booth (Mon 23rd May 2011 at 18:01)
Well, the Mighty Wigan survived to struggle another year in the top flight, just, my sympathy to Big Jim and Ian, so sorry for Blackpool. But ey, never mind, Tony Royall and Taylor looking forward to seeing you Tangerine boys next season, just a bit further for you to travel. And the southern beer is crap!

Glad 2 see u maybe playing weird places like CARDIFF and not SWANSEA andy as the SWANS r going up. Although my pairs partner may av something different 2 say about it as he is a bluebird. Please don't give me any tickets if we both meet at wembley coz if they do, think wembly will need reconstruction. Can't wait 2 get back 4 this years pairs and sink a few of the black.

From: tay (Sat 14th May 2011 at 13:09)

From: andy booth (Sat 14th May 2011 at 11:45)
Never mind the Barca v Man U game, bucket of maddies for anyone got 2 tickets for the Stoke v Wigan, last match of the season. If we lose that, will end up going to all sorts of wierd places in Championship next year, like Brighton, Cardiff and even Ipswich.

A very Happy New Year to you all. Hoping all you Kerrymen out there are going to book early with Nick - places are limited and I know there will be a number of regulars returning after a few years gap... As the countdown ticks towards our annual tour to the West coast my thoughts wondered on to all the Specimen hunts that Big Jim and I have taken on over the past 25 years!! I would recommend you all try a specimen hunt with us, you won't lose any tackle, use much bait, or get back ache through too much casting. Just a few Euros light and a belly full of beer. Join us in the Marina Inn, everyday.. For more top ways to get the most from your Pairs trip don't be shy, just ask.

Hello Maddie Eater - it's always nice to see a new face and hope you enjoy your time at the Pairs as much as we all do.

There's no bans on additives or any baits whatsoever so good luck and "tight lines" with whatever you bring along. See you soon and have a safe journey, Big Jim.

Good to get the discussions going lads - I only said it to stimulate your organs, but judging by some of the comments it looks like I'm already in line for the prestigious "dick of the week" award which would actually be my hat-rick and something I'd be very proud of!!!!! Can't wait to see you all again - I've missed you! Milltown mud for me this year Mr Booth - I'm targeting the bigger maddies and only putting three on each hook, that way I won't need to dig as many "Northern Logic"! Have a safe journey everybody and see you all in Dingle - BRING IT ON!!!!

From: andy booth (Mon 6th Sep 2010 at 19:36)
I will certainly miss you Snowy, will have enough fags to last the week now!!
From your comments Jim, I presume Skip Pool creek is not stuffed to the gills with creeper. Will have to be the Milltown mud then, oh joy. How does Tony fit into Snowy's chesties? Unless that diet did to his height what it was supposed to do to his waist.

I think the banter should start now

From: Taylor (Sun 5th Sep 2010 at 10:39)
Jim , you know full well us southerners dont know how to tie on a sandeel and fish for anything other than flounder and goby , bait bans are for clubs with no members , ban the maddie and fully expect a south coast no show next year .

I imagine on hearing that news , Mr H will be preparing his next years no Maddies speech :)

Safe trip see you soon . Tay

Three weeks to go and not so many comments coming in lads! How's this for a contentious issue - bait bans on certain venues ie only maddies to be used on either Inch or Brandon. Reasons - at 6ft 5" I'm suseptable to a "BAD BACK" especially after digging masses of those horror worms and if I'm on a "Doggie" venue like Ventry, a Skate venue like Rhosbeigh or a "Stinger" venue like Cappaclough - why the hell would I want to fish for a few scratty flats? Let's make life easy for ourselves and ban these bleedin' horrors, I hate Maddies!!!!!

Oh dear, what have I let myself in for? In a moment of madness I said I would get the 2 Blackpool fanatics some tickets, trouble is, they will be sitting with me and my boy in the Wigan end. Can I trust them to sit quietly, even in the unlikely event of Blackpool scoring, for 90 mins? Watch Match Of The Day on 14th, hope you don't see either of them being escorted along the touchline by a steward!!!

Less than 60 days to go now my fellow Dinglers - trust all your rigs are up and ready? Thanks Tony for your good and kind wishes, but I'm afraid that wee doggie still hurts and I can't wait to try and get my own back - see you at Cappa my ol' buddy. Off digging soon - more blacks for the freezer and next stop INCH! Andy, see you on the 14th with the mighty POOL and its 4200 travelling Barmy Army - take care all and see you very soon in Dingle with a pint of the black stuff in me mit! Jimbo

Blackpool in t'Premiership eh? Thats six points for the mighty Wigan Athletic next season in the annual relegation battle. When the fixture list out Ian, give me a shout, will meet up in Wigan or Blackpool and have a few beers and a laugh. If Wigan win!!!

If you love the under dog you will love watching Blackpool FC in t Premiership.. What a season, what a day... What a DAY. Dreams are made of this... But the big question is ??? BFC in the Premiership or a triple shot of dogs, first chuck at Ventry on the first day of the Pairs???

GOT TO BE THOSE DOGS..

Good to hear from you Tony hope you have a great summer - a knotted handkerchief is good for the old peanut..

Happy New Year my fellow Kerrymen. Loving the website and all the banter. I must improve my efforts on the Pictures Hall of Fame. My 20cm flounder, and the humungous Gar are wearing a little thin. Prayers on \"Mick\'s Rock\" this year about sums up my specimen days!! Usually on t road checking venues - that\'s my excuse..
Hope to see everyone in t Dingle, and to my Committee colleagues, as the King would put it, \"Marina Inn- Always on my mind\".

Big yo to everyone. Nick and Sue - much love, and hugs and kisses to the latter.

Bob Moss might have trouble getting his camera out of his bum if he prints those photos. Iwant to be known as a specimine hunter. Not a bloody mini species hunter. Even if the wrasse, corkwing wrasse, and gobi were very small they still helped me beat Jim Goss (sorry once again Jim). only 51 weeks to go must start making rigs for it
